You can delete your Gayizi account at any time. Deletion cannot be undone.
Option 1: In the app
- Open Gayizi and sign in
- Tap “Settings” at the bottom
- Tap “Delete Account” and confirm
Before you delete
- Bring the balance with every contact to zero, and confirm or decline any pending transactions
- Settle any group that hasn’t been settled; for an active group you created, settle it, transfer ownership, or close it first
What we delete
- Your name, email address, password, profile picture, and Google / Apple sign-in links
- The chat messages and images you sent
- The receipt photos you uploaded
- Your notifications and your push notification device token
After deletion, the same email address can be used to register a new account.
Records kept for the other person
Top-ups, expenses, and group bills are shared records between you and the other person. So they can keep checking their accounts, the amounts, dates, and descriptions of those transactions and group expenses are kept for them, but no longer linked to you: they will only see a deleted user, not your name, email address, or profile picture.
Option 2: Request by email if you can’t open the app
Email gayizi@highersisland.jp from the address you registered with, with the subject “Delete account”. Once we confirm the request comes from the registered address, we will delete your account in the same way within 30 days and reply to let you know. If there is still an unsettled balance or group, we will reply with what needs to be done first.
